Because I'm living in a country so freakin' hot that people would rush me to a mental asylum if they saw me walking on the streets wearing a faux fur coat, I have stopped dreaming of owning one and instead started hunting for a faux fur vest!!! Of course, my first stop would have to be my favorite ukay shops! But if all else fails, I just might end up checking out the malls. :P Wish me luck?

2ne1's Dara Park. I am so in love with this girl. Well, I've been in love with her since the first time I saw her on TV. (2003?) I just can't help but love everything about her. Her face. Her charm. Her dorky personality. And now, even her sense of style! Love her coat here and her shoes! She seems to be into leopard prints these days and I love it! LOL. I just noticed how many times I have used the word "love" in this post. But I can't help it! All I have for this girl is love love love!!!

One of my favorite blogs, Ukay Queen, had this contest last week where they asked their readers to send them Lookbook-inspired photos of their best ukay(thrifted) finds.
It was perfect timing cuz I have prepared my all-time-favorite-thrifted-treasures entry to be posted here on my blog that day and I thought, why not send them my photos? It was an all-thrifted outfit anyway! And those were the best I've got!
So I sent my photos. Just a try, though. I didn't even expect anything because I NEVER won contests. Ever! LOL. But I told myself, who knows? I just might get lucky!
So I remember to check their website again last night and look! There I was! I won! I freakin' won! They picked 2 winners for the contest and I'm lucky enough to be one of them! Our prize? A full production conceptual fashion shoot (with professional styling and make-up)! In short, it's every fashion blogger's dream!!! Weeeee!
I don't know how many photos they had to choose from and how they ended up picking the two of us but whatever. All I know right now is I'm happy happy happy!!! And I couldn't thank Pat & RJ of Ukay Queen enough! This is beyond awesome!

Hey guys! This post is kinda late but I wanna share it anyway! These photos were taken last November 12, 2010. It was me and my boyfriend's 5th anniversary! I guess that explains the girly outfit and that flower in my head?
What I wore: White V-neck shirt, high-waisted shorts, necklace and headband--all from Forever 21. Strappy sandals from SM Department store and red Marc Jacobs bag borrowed from my Tita cuz I forgot to bring a "date bag" with me when I came to Manila. ^_^
What he wore? I have no idea. Haha. I was really weirded out by my boyfriend's outfit that night. It's his brother's and it's from Disneyland! WTH? I mean, look at me! All dressed up with a friggin flower in my head and there he was with a borrowed tee from his brother and pants that don't even match his top and---FINE. He's a BOY. I get it. (Besides, he's not looking bad at all. ^.^)
Anyway....we didn't get to take many photos cuz we were both too tired and hungry that night. Both of us had a long tiring day (separately). He just got off work while I came from a lot of places and we just met up that night to celebrate our 5th year over a yummy dinner after watching Easy A which was a super super cool movie by the way!
You'll forgive me for the blurry photos, yeah? ^_^ They were all taken by the boyfriend but I couldn't blame him cuz it was really hard to take photos when the only lights we had were those coming from the hugeass Christmas trees in the background. He even gave me edited copies of them but I had to re-edit cuz his edits were all too dark and lomo-ish..while I want my photos clean and bright! The first two photos were my edits and the third to the last ones were his. See the difference?
That's how we are, I guess. We're two opposite poles of a magnet. He likes his photos dark, I want mine bright. He doesn't give a shit what he wears while I would never leave the house if I don't like what I'm wearing. He would rather die than ride a rollercoaster with me, while I am dying to ride a rollercoaster with him! He grew up listening to The Beatles, Eraserheads and Oasis while I listened to Britney Spears, N'Sync and Backstreet Boys throughout my teenage years.
He's rock, I'm pop. He was a diligent student, I was a delinquent student. He's Mr.Congeniality, I'm an Ice Queen. We couldn't be any more different from each other than we already are but we were able to stand being complete opposites for 5 years!
Considering our irreconcilable differences, it's way beyond my capacity to explain how we made things work between the two of us. I don't even know how we got this far...all I really know is that, all we made was LOVE, and not WAR. It's a fucking cliche' but what else can I say? Love really does conquer ALL.
I'm officially hooked on Pretty Little Liars! I know it's lame that I'm raving about it ...
I am also in love with Spencer Hasting. She's the overachiever, the perfect daughter, and she always looks polished and proper. I'm not a huge fan of preppy overachieving girls but Spencer is definitely not a boring girl! And did I mention, she's also got amazing style!? Not a lot of girls can pull off boyfriend jeans and oxford shoes---menswear with a touch of femininity? Spencer rocks it so perfectly!
I'm sorry to say that Emily is my least favorite character; and I'm not diggin' her fashion sense either. I just really don't like her style. :)

At last! A new outfit post! And oh no! I'm still stuck on these boots! lol. Are you sick of it yet? Sorry but I'm not. Anyway, this is me again, on my all time favorite thrifted treasures!
Got that floral romper from Quiapo many years ago *I forgot when. But I've had this for as long as I can remember and the thought of giving it away or selling it hasn't crossed my mind even once--even if I gained a few pounds and it's gotten a little tight on me. There's no way I'm living without these rompers! (Sorry I tend to over react a lot when I feel so strongly about my clothes.)
Moving on....I know many people will be shocked to hear/read that my denim jacket was thrifted. But what can I do? It was really thrifted! I can clearly remember that day when I found it in a corner of a dark and dusty thrift shop in a small town next to ours. It was definitely that "OH MY GOD!!!" moment I nearly cried tears of joy!
And of course, you knew how I felt when I got these authentic Doc Martens from a thriftshop in Cubao, right? I went BA NA NAS!!!! But I don't wanna blab about it all over again so if you need a laugh, read my over exaggerated reaction when I first laid hands on these DMs HERE. :P
As you can see, I'm wearing my favorite Lolita sunglasses! I have one in red but I just recently found a pink one from Divisoria for a sweet price! :)
So there you go girls: All thrifted! All favorite! All fabulous treasures I will keep until my dying day! ;P This outfit just makes me wanna live in the 80's and fall in love with bad boys and rock stars.
I guess now you understand why this post needs a Taylor Swift reference. If my romper, jacket and boots and accessories were alive and standing in front of me right now, I'd have only one thing to say to all of them: "You guys are the best things that's ever been mine!!!"

Before anything else, I wanna thank Denise of Simone's Fashion Closet for the "Fashionista Friend" award---it's my first and it's an honor! Now, she asked us [her awardees] to post a "fashionable" photo of ourselves when we were kids and another "fashionable" photo of ourselves today, and then write about how our style has changed over the years. So here it is:
I think my love for fashion started at a very young age. As a kid, I was ALWAYS conscious about what I'm wearing--not the brand or how much the clothes cost, but by how they look on me. I've always had this need to look pleasant TO MY EYES. For some reason, I just had to impress me. That's why I'd get really stressed out--actually, the term should be "depressed"--whenever my mother puts me in hideous clothes that I couldn't get out of no matter how bad I protest. *sob* Thank God I'm of legal age now to choose what and what not to wear.

Beanie - Khush
Aside from the difference in the sizes of clothes I wear, I don't really see anything that's changed when it comes to the way I dress. Like I've said before, I don't stick to a particular look. When I was a kid, I'd wear dresses with doll shoes and socks with ruffled lace on days when I feel girly, then I'd go for shorts or jumpers and cute sneakers when I'm not in the mood to act prim and proper.
My dresses and shorts may have gotten way too shorter now, I don't wear frilly socks anymore, and my hair today may resemble that of a skank's, but one thing remains the same--I'd wear anything as long as [I THINK] it looks good on me--regardless of how much it costs or how it almost doesn't cost anything at all. Haha
So there you go! Niknok Style THEN & NOW. Aside from my age, nothing much has really changed. I'm still that little girl who loves to play dress up, look pretty and smile at the camera!
Unfortunately, I don't know many bloggers to tag right now. Bummer, I know. But I just recently decided to get more serious in fashion blogging, and I'm still going around bloghopping, meeting other fab bloggers.
I'd love to give an award to so many blogs that I've fallen in love-at-first-visit with and have been reading non-stop recently but I'm not sure if they wouldn't mind being tagged or something--and the other bloggers I have on my mind have already been tagged. HUHU. Its a shame I didn't follow the rules but maybe next time?
So I guess this is it for now! Again, I wanna thank Denise for the award and the chance to share this to all of you! :P

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been MIA. I just got back from the city yesterday--with lots of new stuff for my closet! :P I am so happy to say that I finally got the hat that I want!!! Lookie! Got it for only Php300 from Divisoria. ^__^
I also bought a couple of accessories from Forever21 and Quiapo--a headband, a pair of nerdy glasses, some necklaces and new rings to add to my collection! :P
Also got another pair of floral leggings and some high waisted shorts--both from Divisoria! Can't wait to wear 'em and post new oufits!!!
Sorry, this is the best photo I can show you guys right now. Like I said, I just got back and haven't found time to take decent photos so please ignore my obviously fake smile in here cuz I was tired as hell from shopping that day!
